Here's
some video taken on Wednesday, November 3, 2004 from the Rappahanock
River, VA to Norfolk. Chesapeake weather forcasted winds from the north
at 10-15 knots and seas 1-3 feet. What we had were north winds 15-20, gusting
to 25-30, and waves 6 - 8 feet, some as big as ten. It is interesting to
note, outside the mouth of the Chesapeake, south to the Gulf Stream, the
conditions were reported with winds to 40 knots and seas along the north
wall of the stream growing to 23 feet! The following video doesn't do
the conditions justice - the video seems more mild than what we experienced.
